I'm reading Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor, which is DELIGHTFUL. I also plan on doing a lot of cooking and baking. I want to make Chicken Parmesan, which is something I've never made at home. Why that? No idea. lol

The extra time from canceled events, meetings, and almost everything, is a blessing in disguise.

Besides having more time to write, a precious commodity previously, I am cleaning out closets and finishing projects on the 'back burner' for months. It's so refreshing to find things again in storage areas that were actually forgotten. "I wondered where that 'thing-a-ma-bob' was hiding."

Everything thing that happens in life, no matter how upsetting on the surface, has hidden benefits if you only look for them. Optimism is the cream in my coffee. I hope it can be in yours as well.

Working from home now, but I've been binging random shows like, Black Sails, in the evening. I also watched Kingdom (Korean horror show on Netflix), Stephen King's The Outsider (HBO) and Altered Carbon (Netflix). Reading Medium articles and staying current on news sites. I seriously need to pick up a book, but I'm not sure which one yet!

I played a bunch of Beatles Rock Band with my son last night. I'm reading Death Around the Bend by TE Kinney. It's part of a really fun cozy/historical mystery series that I'm enjoying a lot. Tonight we're going to do a Netflix party and watch a movie with my brother's family while maintaining social distance. :)

So, to avoid an existential shutoff, J and I are doing tons of writing (while listening to Chillhop--I'm obsessed!), reading, binge watching, and hiking. We've watched the third season of Babylon Berlin, second season of Altered Carbon (both on Netflix), the last three seasons of 30 Rock, the sixth season of Endeavor, started Hunters (all on Prime), continuing with Westworld, Avenue 5, and Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO Go), and movies from everywhere. Nicole, you'll appreciate that I read the sequel to Children of Time, aptly titled Children of Ruin, which made it onto my top ten books of all time as well. I want to read all 600 pages again but am already well into The Hanging Tree (number 5 in the Rivers of London series--did you finish that whole series?). Tomorrow is Mona Lisa Overdrive for more of my cyberpunk fix. And lots of articles about NASA and space stuff. I find hope in scientific endeavors, especially reaching out for the stars, for a future, even if it won't be my future. This was a nice reminder for me to keep social--thanks. ;)

I’m still going to work, but we’re getting ready for me to work from home next week (insurance agency, just the boss & me). When that happens, I plan to churn out the CE classes I need for my license renewal, and to make a serious dent in my TBR and TBW (To Be Watched). Both of those lists are so long, I am probably good for the rest of the year!

Hi! I'm catching up on reading (love Nnedi Okorafor!) and finally getting through the backlog of TV I'd saved for "when I have time". We're making your Cuban Black Beans tonight!
